Spike Video Game Awards (Winners)

The Spike Video Game Awards aired earlier this evening, and despite sending out a tweet reminding everyone to tune in, I forgot to do just that. However, here are the winners from tonight's showcase: Game of the Year Red Dead Redemption Best Studio BioWare, for Mass Effect 2 Best Action Adventure Game Assassin's Creed: Brotherhood Best Shooter Call of Duty: Black Ops Best Performance By A Human Male Neil Patrick Harris in Spider-Man: Shattered Dimensions Best Independent Game Limbo Most Anticipated Game For 2011 Portal 2 Best Soundtrack DJ Hero 2 Character of the Year Sgt. Woods (Call of Duty: Black Ops) I can't say that there were any surprises on this list. It all seems a bit self-serving to me, but the one shining star of all the winners announced for me is Limbo. If you have an XBox 360 and you don't own this game, get on over to the XBLA Marketplace and purchase it. It's one of my favorite games of the year. It reminds you just how awesome learning to play video games was when you were a kid. Only the style is decidedly dark.
